Illustrative preview · CourtAhead is in development.
Bring material in without pre-sorting everything
The planned intake supports batches of papers and evidence as well as individual files. Originals remain separate from extracted text and organizational suggestions. Processing needs to show progress, unreadable material and recoverable failures. Partial results can support useful work, but a missing page or an incomplete extraction should never be quietly treated as a complete record.
Organize once, use the record in different work
One file may matter to several questions or proceedings. The intended library connects that source to relevant workspaces without creating competing copies. Working drafts stay under their parent document, and corrections should affect the right record. Issue, person, date and document type provide ways to find material while preserving the context in which it was received.
From question to next step
1
Bring your records
Organize existing papers and new material as your case develops.
2
Find the source
Connect relevant passages, events and people to their originals.
3
Use the history
Bring relevant evidence into planning, drafts and later questions.
Connected work
As your case develops
CourtAhead is being designed to preserve original records while connecting related events, evidence and work. New papers should help identify what has changed and what needs attention.
Your decisions
You stay in control
A summary is not the original. Sources, uncertainty and conflicting accounts should remain visible for review.
Do I need to organize every file before uploading?
Pre-sorting is not the intended requirement. Supported intake should accept unsorted material and allow you to review and correct the resulting organization.
Does a summary replace my original file?
No. Summaries and extracted text are aids to navigation and preparation. The original record remains the source to inspect, and extraction gaps need to be visible.
