Terms of Service

Effective date: September 28, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of the public website at courtahead.com, operated by CourtAhead, Inc. (“CourtAhead,” “we,” or “us”). They cover public resources, free tools, the website guide and the early-access request form. The SMS section describes optional consent collected with an early-access request; text messaging is not yet active. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the website.

Current scope

The public website offers general information and organizational tools. Its free tools do not require a paid subscription. These terms do not enroll you in a paid plan or govern a private CourtAhead account. Before a future account, trial or paid service becomes available, we will present the terms for that service.

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into an agreement to use the website. If you use it for an organization, you must have authority to do so.

Our public resources, tools and guide provide general information, not legal advice, representation or a substitute for a qualified lawyer. Using the website, contacting us or requesting early access does not create an attorney-client relationship. CourtAhead is not a court, government agency or law firm.

You remain responsible for your legal decisions, deadlines, filings and service. Verify information against current official sources and the requirements that apply to your matter. A checklist, generated summary or timeline does not establish legal sufficiency, a court deadline, accepted filing, completed service or a particular outcome.

AI guide

The website guide uses AI. Its answers can be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date. Check important information independently. Do not enter confidential case information, names, contact details, case numbers or private documents into the public guide. It does not file, serve or send documents for you.

Early access

An early-access request lets us consider your interest and contact you about an invitation. It does not guarantee acceptance, a launch date, any feature or uninterrupted access. Submitting the form does not create an account or paid subscription, authorize a charge, start a trial or subscribe you to product news. You may withdraw your request through our contact form.

The Pricing page describes the current offer, but subscriptions are not open. The checkout terms presented before enrollment will govern any future subscription you choose to accept.

SMS terms

CourtAhead SMS is an optional customer care and account-related program. You can give consent on the early-access form, but messaging will not begin until the sender is active and your number is verified. When available, messages may include requested account and security alerts, task reminders and support replies, not promotional messages.

To opt in to recurring messages, enter your mobile number and select the separate unchecked SMS consent box. Providing a number alone does not give consent. Texts are optional and not required to request early access. Requesting a one-time verification code would authorize only that message, not recurring SMS.

Message frequency will vary; verification sends one code per request. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. SMS reminders do not replace checking your account or tracking legal deadlines.

When the program opens, reply STOP to opt out. We will send one confirmation and stop further SMS unless you explicitly enroll again. To rejoin, complete the opt-in and verification process after any carrier or provider block is cleared. Reply HELP or use our contact form for help. See SMS privacy.

Permitted use

You may use the website for lawful purposes, share links and print or download materials where that option is provided. You may keep, edit and use a report you create with a free tool for your own matter. Third-party materials remain subject to their own licenses and terms.

Do not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, bypass security or usage limits, introduce malicious code, impersonate someone else, submit information you are not entitled to provide, infringe another person’s rights, or use automated access in a way that disrupts the service.

Your information

You retain any rights you have in information you supply. You authorize us to process it as needed to provide the public website function or respond to your request, as described in our Privacy Notice. Keep your own copies of important material; the website is not a case-record archive.

Site content

CourtAhead or its licensors own the website’s branding, software and original content. Except for the permissions above or rights provided by law, these terms do not grant a right to commercially redistribute that material, use our branding or imply our endorsement. We do not claim ownership of your information, public-domain court materials or third-party content.

External services

Links to courts, self-help services and other websites are provided for convenience. Their operators control their content, availability and terms. A link does not establish an affiliation or endorsement. Check the destination before relying on information or submitting anything.

Availability

We may update, limit, suspend or discontinue public features. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risks, legal requirements or a violation of these terms. You may stop using the website at any time. Stopping use does not automatically delete information already provided; see the Privacy Notice for request options.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the public website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or noninfringement. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability, suitability for a specific matter, or a particular legal result.

To the extent permitted by law, CourtAhead is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits, arising from the public website. Nothing excludes or limits responsibility for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, violations of law, or a liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

California law governs these terms unless applicable law requires otherwise. These terms do not require arbitration, waive class-action rights or restrict a nonwaivable consumer right to bring a claim in an appropriate court. Contacting us is not a condition of pursuing a legal remedy.

Changes and general terms

We will post revised terms here with an updated effective date and provide a prominent notice for material changes. Changes apply prospectively. Where agreement to a change is required, we will obtain it before applying the change to you.

If a provision is unenforceable, the rest continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Failure to enforce a provision once is not a waiver. These website terms do not override separate terms expressly agreed for another service. Provisions concerning ownership, disclaimers, liability and governing law continue to apply to matters arising while these terms were in effect.
